Travelport also has announced they are now charging for passive segments over some arbitrary limit that they set. This is clearly a move to try to generate revenue from agents that use passive segments for bookings confirmed outside the GDS. The issue is that no one knows what these limits are until it's too late, which makes it difficult to control costs.

More and more people will continue to go online to book travel products, and to be sure, brick & mortar agents are dying breed.

However, I vehemently disagree that anyone has come to reproduce the quality of service that a great travel agent provides. And I think travelers are growing continually weary with all the work they have to do to book travel themselves.

The online tools still suck.

If I ever need to double check that my room has internet, I would probably have never booked at that hotel. 100% agree. Internet is just basic communication tool are essential for working travelers. So they should be free or at least available at all stays.

You are so right. In Mexico some hotels charge $ 12 or more per day WiFi. Since a 10 day vacation and $ 150 internet bill I always check for free wireless.

I have not seen those commercial comments (thank you for removing them, BTW) but since I have several blogs and forums, I have to guess your request will fall on deaf ears: those comments you are blocking are added either by spam robots, which are not interested in rules and prohibition, and by professional form fillers, who are paid for each form they fill on ANY website. In your case, probably you only have the latter, since the capcha should stop robots. But this will not help: "please" does not work, in some cases...
